Who Is Aseel Azizieh
“For me, art is not a form; it is an existential experience between earth and sky.” My artistic practice is a continuous exploration of the invisible relationships between nature, form, energy, and human existence. Through sculpture and other visual expressions, I investigate the delicate dialogue between lightness and weight, balance and imbalance, presence and absence, seeking to reveal the forces that shape both the physical and emotional dimensions of our lives. I am deeply drawn to simplicity—not as a reduction, but as a space where meaning can unfold freely. Inspired by natural forms and materials, I often allow intuition and the creative process to guide the work, embracing discovery rather than control. Each piece emerges as a revelation, as though it already exists within nature and I am merely uncovering its presence. At the heart of my work lies energy—the unseen force that connects all things and gives form to experience. My aim is to translate this invisible essence into tangible forms that invite contemplation, emotional resonance, and a deeper awareness of our connection to the world around us. Beyond aesthetics, my work is rooted in a profound belief in the social and human role of art. I see artistic practice as a means of fostering awareness, empathy, and dialogue. Many of my projects engage with humanitarian concerns, particularly those affecting women and children, reflecting my commitment to creating work that not only inspires reflection but also contributes to a more compassionate and conscious world.
Aseel Phylosophy
Aseel Azizieh is a Jordanian visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, painting, murals, installation, and design. Born in Jordan, she has dedicated her artistic journey to exploring contemporary art as a space for research, reflection, and cultural transformation. Her extensive experiences living and working in Jordan, France, Iraq, Turkey, and Georgia have profoundly shaped both her personal and artistic development, nurturing a deep interest in the relationships between space, time, perception, and human experience.
At the core of Azizieh’s work lies an ongoing exploration of the dynamic tension between lightness and weight, presence and absence, balance and imbalance. These concepts have become defining elements of her artistic language, informing both her sculptural practice and her broader visual investigations. Through experimentation, critical inquiry, and intuitive processes, she continuously examines the ways in which energy, matter, and perception interact within physical and psychological spaces.
Her artistic evolution has moved from early works characterized by expressive density and dramatic contrasts between light and shadow toward more open visual languages in which energy, place, and experience emerge as immersive perceptual states rich in symbolic meaning. The relationship between gravity, movement, and grounding permeates her work, transforming artistic practice from a two-dimensional surface into an expanded spatial and existential experience.
Nature, simplicity, and emotional depth remain central to her creative vision. Through organic forms and carefully considered compositions, Azizieh creates works that evoke contemplation, wonder, and a deeper awareness of the invisible forces that shape human existence. Her sculptures, in particular, embody a distinctive balance between physical mass and visual lightness, creating poetic dialogues between materiality and transcendence.
Largely self-taught as an artist, Azizieh has developed her practice independently through continuous experimentation, research, and observation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Translation from Al-Zaytoonah University in Jordan and a Master’s degree in European Studies from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) in Georgia.
Her works are included in the collections of museums and institutions in Portugal, Turkey, Jordan, and China. She has participated in exhibitions, symposia, and international art projects across China, Andorra, France, Italy, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, Portugal, Malta, Egypt, Georgia, Turkey, Romania, Hungary, Greece, South Korea, Mongolia, Austria, and numerous other countries.
Committed to placing art in the service of humanity, Azizieh frequently addresses humanitarian themes, with particular attention to the experiences of women and children. Her work seeks to build connections between cultures, foster dialogue, and create spaces for reflection, empathy, and transformation.
