In this interpretation, the vibrant turquoise at the top represents the “Silence”—a calm, expansive sky of stillness. The heavy, dark impasto of charcoal and burnt umber acts as the “Shattering” force. The way the dark paint is applied—thick, jagged, and central—looks like an explosion of sound or emotion that has physically cracked the composition open.

Artist’s Statement:

“Shattered Silence is a study of the ‘sudden.’ By placing a heavy, turbulent mass of earth-toned pigments into a field of serene turquoise, I aim to capture the moment an internal or external peace is disrupted. The work is a visual scream—a celebration of the raw energy that emerges when the quietude of the mind is interrupted by the weight of a new reality.”
